Zion and Bryce Canyons

Enter into the southwest corner of Utah and experience a diversity of terrain found nowhere else in the world. Zion Canyon contains an ecosystem protected by the immense canyon walls created by the Virgin river. Bryce Canyon is the other extreme. A fairyland created by the erosion of sandstone at an elevation of over 9,000 feet. The huge pine trees of alpine country compliment the orange sandstone "hoodoos" created by the forces of extreme variances of cold and heat.

Antelope Canyon

A sacred place to the Navajo people and the most famous example of the many slot canyons that can be found in the southwest. At midday, the sun's rays shoot into cracks in the watershed to create a maginficent symphony of light. At once beautiful, and dangerous during the monsoon season, the forces of water have carved an intricate labrynth.

The Southwest

A collection of images from around the southwest.

Texas

Texas is my home state and it truly is big. I am far from documenting all the wonderful sites available to the photographer here and I probably will never complete this task!

The Deserts

From white gypsum dunes to the arid crags of volcanic mountians there is something very special about the deserts of the southwest. Here are some images representing the Sonora and Chihuahua environments.

Arches and Canyonlands

The lands around Moab, Utah are the ultimate in out-of-this-world scenics and possess unbelievable beauty. Every possible formation of rock can be found here surrounded by the snow capped La Sal Range and poised on a high desert of incredible delicacy. Yet, this happens to be the most rugged and, at one time, remote areas in the United States.

Panoramas & Mosaics

These images are all created by digitally combining several standard size camera photos into seamless and continuous compositions.

California

Even this modest collection of images from Death Valley, the Mojave desert, and the Eastern Sierra show the incredible range of scenic grandeur in what is arguably the most beautiful state in the U.S.

Grand Tetons & Yellowstone

In northwestern Wyoming the Rocky Mountains play host to the geological and thermal wonders present at the Grand Tetons range and the Yellowstone Plateau. High alpine peaks, cobalt blue glacial lakes, and an active volcano are the land features that make an idilic home for the great western game of the United States.
